Reverend Norbert M. Cooper The Reverend Norbert Cooper was born April 27, 1948 in Nassau, Bahamas. He is the only child of the late Milton and Enid Cooper. He is married to Beryl Cooper and he has a son, Giles Cooper, one adopted son and two adopted daughters. Reverend Cooper obtained his early childhood education at St. Anne’s Elementary and High School. He served as chairperson at St. Anne’s Church, Fox Hill, Nassau, Bahamas. In his late teens he served as Patrol Leader in the boy scouts and assistant cub master. He obtained a Bachelor in Arts degree (Social Studies), Class of ‘73 from St. Augustine College, Raleigh North Carolina; and Masters of Divinity, Class of ’76 from Nashotah House, Nashotah Wisconsin. He was ordained Deacon on December 18, 1975 at St. Anne’s Church, Fox Hill, Nassau, Bahamas and ordained Priest on May 30, 1976 by the Rt. Rev. Michael H. Eldon in Christ Church Cathedral, Nassau, Bahamas. His first assignment as a Priest was to serve as Assistant Priest at St. Anne’s Church, under the guidance of his rector and mentor, the late Canon David J. Pligh. Reverend Cooper has served as rector of: He has served as Board Member of the Episcopal Charities in the Diocese of Pennsylvania. He was a member of the executive board and standing committee; and Dean of the Key Deanery, Diocese of Southeast Florida. Reverend Cooper has received numerous awards on both the local and national levels. His hobby is collecting Pens. |
